The Rev. Jacki BelileYes. I’m saying THAT again.  On the other side of our trip to North Dakota and too few days with grieving family, it’s on my mind.  For the long challenging road of pain and testing my family will face, it’s on my mind.  For the regrets I carry about my past emotional distance from family- and convictions to make the present and future different – it’s on my mind.  In gratitude for you all, and your prayers and tender support, it’s on my mind.

This core growth value of relationships is embedded in everything we’re prioritizing in our season of revitalization: intergenerational relationships, sharing our building, collaborating with others, connecting Eden’s family.  And, the educational mission we hold for bringing people together in these divided times.

This theme is also on my heart as Pastor Noemi and I prepare our sermon halves for this Sunday’s worship at Redeemer of Calvary (10am, 5001 W. Gunnison Street).  We celebrate this collaborative worship opportunity with members of Congregational Church of Jefferson Park.  Between the two of us, Noemi and I will weave together the core scriptural mandate of HOSPITALITY and the SPIRITUAL FREEDOM that makes this possible.  We trust this will be a faithful blessing of our common work for the week of observing Independence Day. May the Christian values undergirding the rights and responsibilities we carry as citizens be reaffirmed and strengthened as we worship and participate in communion together.   Please join us for fellowship hour there following worship.

Note: The Zoom info will be our USUAL EDEN ZOOM INFO. Thanks to David Angel and Doug Roberts (CCJP) for maximizing the potential for audio quality on-site there.

In Christ’s Peace,
Pastor Jacki
